Posh Princess Preschool - Letter C

We had another really full week of preschool activities.
Some stuff I've been holding onto for awhile,
and a few others that I had when the boys were smaller.
It is so much fun watching The Diva learn, and build on her skills each week.
Here is a glimpse of what she got to do...

Letter C: for Cats, Caterpillars, Cows

She started off by learning what the Letter C sounds like.
We used our Word Whammer Fridge Phonics for this.

Then she learned how to write the Letter C using
this worksheet from Confessions of a Homeschooler.

She did her Play-doh page for letter Cc...

And cut a letter C with this cookie cutter...

And made a C with our Purpllinker..

Practiced writing a letter Cc with a magnet board and
these Wipe Clean Activity Cards...

I set out a cat magnet sheet from Making Learning Fun,
but she decided to color it instead...

and then did this Color Match Cards activity from Making Learning Fun.

We all played our Dr. Seuss game I Can Do That
It is a great game that gets the kids up and moving around
after sitting to do a little school work!
I also found the The Cat In The Hat Movie (the old one)
and she really enjoyed watching that.

The next day we read through
The Very Hungry Caterpillar,
and did a few of the activities from
our Caterpillar Pack from 1+1+1=1.

Caterpillar size sorting: biggest to smallest.

She learned how to draw a caterpillar,
and did a color-by-number butterfly...
This lacing card is from this set.

Then I lined up her story cards and placed
Foam Beads  in front of each of them.
We laced a small caterpillar, and then as she retold the story,
she laced the "food" beads onto the string.

At the end, she counted how many beads were on the string,
we took all the beads off, and made a longer bigger caterpillar.
She really enjoyed this activity and repeated this a few times this week!

I created a Playlist on my iPod to go along with each
Letter-of-the-week theme.  The girl loves her music!

She did the caterpillar page
from our Playful Patterns set...

And started her
Kumon My First Book of Mazes
(I had to stop her from
doing the entire book...she loved doing this!)

She played a color matching game with these caterpillars..

We got to play with our new Shape Sorting Clock,
which was great for number and shape recognition practice.

Then I got out our Melissa and Doug Birthday Cake,
and we played a game using the numbers from the clock.
I would call out an item to place on the cake,
she would choose a number, and then decorate the cake with those items.

She also did the "c" words from thisMelissa and Doug See and Spell set.

The Diva loves to sew and lace.  Here she is lacing a cow from this set.

I had a large selection of books out for her to read this week,
but her favorite by far was Click, Clack, Moo Cows That Type.

She colored a cow...

She did her letter Cc search...

And smallest object....

Towards the end of the week, our tradition is to do "Fun-Friday",
where we play lots of games, do fun art or science projects,
or go on a field trip rather than our usual school day.
This week she wanted to play Cranium Cariboo Island,
which is a great game for letter, number, and color recognition!

She also got to play The Very Hungry Caterpillar game
which is a fun way to reinforce colors and shapes.

Here are a few pictures of some of the fun stuff she got to do:

Playing t-ball with Isaac...

Playdate with our friends the Kehls to Focus On The Family...

She got to watch the boys do the sound effects for an
Adventures in Odyssey show!

And a camping trip!

That just about sums up The Diva's week!
See you next week for...

Letter D: for Dinosaurs, Dogs, and Ducks
