Posh Princess Preschool - Letter M

M is for: Monkey, Monster, Moose, Mouse
We had so much to do this week, we had to extend it into the following week!
Sorry this is a long post, but I didn’t want to leave anything out.

No week would be complete without our Word Whammer...

M for monster Magnet Page from Making Learning Fun.
This week she just wanted to color it in.

163

This is part of our Monkey Preschool/Tot Pack from 1+1+1=1, Monkey ABC's.
It ended up being great review of letters for her this week.

237

Matching upper case letters to lower case ones…

239

M for mouse coloring sheet, smallest object page…

Letter Mm hunt…

I haven’t done as good of a job with providing Elaina with crafts as I did with the boys.
I had this monkey puppet left from when the boys did preschool,
and she was so excited to do it!
I need to try to remember to include more of these fun crafts for her too.

253

Great cutting practice…

256

And some gluing…

257

Voila!
Cute little monkey puppet.
She named him Georgie.

Our family LOVES all of the Laura Numeroff books, “If you…”
and this one is one of our favorites!
If You Give A Moose A Muffin is a cute story about a moose who gets a muffin,
and the series of events that follow.
Here is a glimpse of the pack I made last year for the boys.
It includes a moose coloring page, a ring of muffins with M words,
a plate to place muffins on with number cards (we use dice to do this activity),
and a large stack of story cards.
We love having story cards to go along with our circle time stories.
These cards came out several times this week.

263

274

We had to get out our marble run!
All the kids enjoyed this all week long!

295

We have this fun file folder game called Monster Manners
We used it with our pocket chart, and the kids took turns
adding the well mannered monsters and bad mannered monsters where they belonged.
It was a great way to reinforce ways to have good manners.
I asked the kids to each name ways they could be good mannered monsters.
We had a lot of fun with this!

297

Elaina is still working through her maze book.
She loves to do mazes,
and would likely finish the book in a day if I allowed her to!

298

We are still working through her numbers workbook too.
She is on number 5 this week.
She said, “Just like me!  I’m 5!”

Here is that Lakeshore Learning Sound Sort again, this week for letter m.
She is having a little bit of difficulty understanding what I mean when I ask her
for beginning and ending sounds to words.
She is getting an earlier start to it than the boys did,
so I’m sure she will get the concept in time.

043

Here is the monster pack from 1+1+1=1.

046

This is a Tot pack that I got out for Olivia,
but Elaina wanted to work through it too.
She loved this pack last year when I first made it.

049

She made a letter M out of the monster cards.
I told her that was pretty creative!

051

Another part to the pack is counting monster eyes.
This time I took out some of our googly eyes
so she could add them as she counted.

054

055

She had a lot of fun with this activity!

056

Here’s another book from when the boys were younger called Monster Munch.
It has 100 pieces for the monster to eat.
She requested to do this many times this week,
and had a lot of fun searching through all of the pieces and “feeding” the monster.

065

We got out our Leap Pad for some Monsters Inc. fun!

071

One afternoon while we were all gathered around the table playing games,
she started building letters with Isaac’s Zoobs
I love how she is always creating!
 Here is her letter A.

221

And the rest of her letters.  She did them all on her own.

231

We’ve been really lucky to have some beautiful days here lately,
and we’ve taken advantage of them and gone to the park a lot.
Elaina loves to swing!
Her least favorite thing is the walk to the park though…
